Periyambalam Beach

Periyambalam beachPeriyambalam beach, situated in the eighteenth ward serves as a tourist magnet. Beach festivals are conducted during Onam and Ramadan seasons. Seats and washrooms have been constructed here for the convenience of visitors. Close by is a privately owned children's park and a horse pavilion. The vetiver fields that lie close to the coast is a heavenly sight to behold. This beach, that is a mere half kilometre from the national highway, also has restaurants and street-side eateries.

Thangalppadi Beach

This beautiful beach is situated on the border of Thrissur and Malappuram districts. It becomes even more marvellous when the vetiver fields come up. It is also the best spot to catch sunrise and sunset. The vegetation along the shoreline ups the beauty of the beach. However, although it is only one kilometre from the national highway, in terms of convenience, Thangalppadi beach is yet to develop.

Pappali Beach

This beach is located in the sixteenth ward of the panchayat. The vetiver fields are visible from here too. An Ayurvedic resort is situated close by the beach.

This beach offers protection to sea turtles and is one of the few beaches in the district which provides the breeding ground for the reptiles. The calmness and serenity of the beach have attracted tourists from far and wide. Except on holidays, the beach is not much crowded and the travellers can spend hours at the beach enjoying the beauty. Golden sands, palm groves and an estuary have made this a favourite among tourists.

Andathode Beach

This beach is situated in the eighteenth ward of Punnayoorkkulam panchayat and is around 40km from Thrissur. This beach is home to vetiver, Chinese potato and tapioca cultivation. The patches of coconut palm trees dotting the shore add to the beauty of Andathode Beach.

It is also a launching point for fishermen venturing out into the sea. The fisherfolk usually sets out in the middle of the night or early in the morning. Tourists visiting in the morning can see fishermen hauling their boats into the shores. Unloading the catch from the boats and distributing the school of fish are a unique sight for tourists.
